Berinda amabilis Roewer, 1928, from Crete, by original designation (Roewer 1928: 106).

Diagnosis. Compared to the other genera of the Zelotinae, the members of this genus are of medium size (total length of ♂ 4.02–7.8 mm and of ♀ 5.7–10.2 mm). Species of Berinda can be diagnosed by: 1) a strongly developed conductor protruding ventrally; 2) a long filiform embolus; and 3) a large epigynal hood anterior to the copulatory ducts and spermathecae (Panayiotou et al. 2010; Lissner & Chatzaki 2016). Males have distinctive species-specific retrolateral tibial apophysis and in some a patellar apophysis may be present too.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/33474F50FFF4DE0409B8FD10FBD737DC	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. The new species is dedicated to the entomologist Dr. Semih Örgel, who made great contributions to our knowledge of Turkish staphylinids, is a friend of the authors, and assisted in the field trips during which the new species was collected.

Diagnosis. The male of the new species is similar to that of B. aegilia Chatzaki, 2002, but differs from it by the smaller and less protruding posterior end of the conductor (vs. straight and protruding in B. aegilia) and the small hook-shaped retrolateral tibial apophysis (vs. long, finger-shaped in B. aegilia) (compare Fig. 14 with Chatzaki et al. 2002 b: figs 9, 10). The epigyne of B. orgeli sp. nov. differs from that of B. aegilia by the shape of the epigynal hood (globular vs. trapezoidal in B. aegilia) (compare Fig 16 with Chatzaki et al. 2002 b: figs 11, 12).

Description (Holotype, Male).
