            <p>Etymology</p>
            <p>The specific epithet is derived from the Latin adjective granosus, full of grains and alludes to the pigmented dorsal and ventral body surfaces.</p>
            <p>Diagnosis</p>
            <p> Dugesia granosa is characterized by the presence of the following features: asymmetrical openings of the oviducts, with the left oviduct opening into the common atrium; presence of well-developed ectal reinforcement, extending from the vaginal area almost to the copulatory bursa; conical penis papilla; central course of the ejaculatory duct with terminal opening; elongate seminal vesicle; openings of the vasa deferentia in the anterior section of the seminal vesicle; large diaphragm positioned halfway along the length of the penis papilla. </p>

            <p>Etymology</p>
            <p>The specific epithet is based on the Greek letter S, Sigma, and alludes to the S-shaped ejaculatory duct.</p>
            <p>Diagnosis</p>
            <p> Dugesia sigmoides is characterized by the presence of the following features: asymmetrical openings of the oviducts into the bursal canal; ectal reinforcement extending along the entire length of the bursal canal; hyperplasic ovaries; central S-shaped course of the ejaculatory duct; subterminal opening of the ejaculatory duct; elongated seminal vesicle; openings of the vasa deferentia at a position about halfway along the seminal vesicle; large diaphragm. </p>

            <p> Dugesia gibberosa is characterized by: asymmetrical openings of the oviducts into the bursal canal; ectal reinforcement extending from the vaginal region to more than halfway along the bursal canal; hyperplasic ovaries and under-developed testes; a peculiar blunt penis papilla provided with two dorsal bumps; ventral course of the ejaculatory duct with terminal opening; openings of the vasa deferentia halfway along the narrow seminal vesicle; small diaphragm. </p>
