Type locality: China: Gansu (Wen County) (original description).</p><p>Amphinemura claviloba: Baumann 1975: 12 (list); Li &amp; Yang 2008b: 219 (redescription of male); Yang et al. 2015: 182 (male description); Chen et al. 2020: 461 (mitochondrial genome).</p><p>Adult habitus. General body color blackish-brown. Head mostly blackish-brown; antennae yellowish-brown; palpi light yellowish-brown; mouthparts yellowish-brown; thorax brown; compound eyes black. Pronotum brown, with distinct black rugosities, narrower than head. Legs uniformly brown. Wings brownish and membranous, subhyaline, veins brownish.</p><p>Female. Adult length 5.3–6.1 mm, forewing length 6.3–7.5 mm, hind wing length 5.3–6.3 mm (n = 3). Sternum 7 produced into a yellowish, extensive pregenital plate, covering half of sternum 8 (Fig. 2a). Sternum 8 (Figs. 2a–b) forms a pair of strongly sclerotized, rectangular subgenital plates with a distinct posterior notch, anterior apex sharp; left anterior part area yellowish and faintly sclerotized, in contrast to the half that is dark brown. Paragenital plate (Figs. 2a–b, d) paired and brown, medium-sized with wavy edges, with half of plate covered by the subgenital plate. Sternum 9 trapezoid and sclerotized. There is a membranous tunnel between the sclerites, with a funnel-shaped sclerite medially that guides the way to the spermathecal duct. The genital opening is narrow and funnelled (Figs. 2b–f). Pronotum brownwish, rectangular with rounded corners, surface smooth without rugosities, narrower than head. Legs light brown to brown. Wings pale and membranous, subhyaline, veins light brown.</p><p>Female. Adult length 4.1–5.1 mm, forewing length 5.7–6.2 mm, hind wing length 4.7–5.2 mm (n =6).Mesothorax and metathorax bears a U-shaped sclerotized band medially. Sternum 7 produced into a broad, rectangular pregenital plate, covering anterior part of sternum 8 and inner slcerite; the plate is brown (Fig. 3a). Sternum 9 trapezoidal and pale. Paraprocts and cerci pale. The inner arm is sclerotized into a tubular form, slightly elevated in lateral view. Outer arms are mushroom-shaped and encase the inner arm, with their apices forming the internal genitalia. Below the internal genitalia are four petal-liked sclerites (Fig. 7b–f). Type locality: China: Qinghai (Qilian County, Arou Temple,  Daotang River) (original description).</p><p>Adult habitus. General body color brown to dark brown. Head light brown; antennae yellow to dark brown; palpi light brown; maxillary palpi light brown; mouthparts light brown; thorax light brown; compound eyes black. Pronotum brown to dark brown, rectangular with rounded corners, slightly narrower than the head, with irregular markings. Legs light yellow. Wings light brown, membranous, subhyaline; veins light brown.</p><p>Female. Adult length 5.0– 5.4 mm, forewing length 7.2–7.9 mm, hind wing length 6.5–7.2 mm (n = 10). Sternum 7 produced into a broad circular pregenital plate, rear margin wavy, covering half of sternum 8 and inner slcerite; the plate is brown, slightly plump in lateral view (Fig. 8a). Sternum 8 forms a pair of irregular, bicolored and fingerliked subgenital plates, anterior apex nipple-like (Figs. 8a–b); subgenital plate mostly brown and weakly sclerotized. Sternum 9 trapezoid, anterior area strongly sclerotized, media and posterior area sclerotized weakly. Between the sclerites is a membrane tunnel, with a funnel-shaped sclerite medially that guides the way to the spermathecal duct (Figs. 8b–f). The genital opening is narrow and triangular.
