Genus Bothrochilus Fitzinger, 1843

Remarks:

Rawlings et al. (2008) identified a sister-group relationship of this monotypic genus with Leiopython, which they also considered monotypic. They proposed synonymy of Leiopython with Bothrochilus, with the latter being the senior synonym. Also see comments on Leiopython .
