Oxathres proxima Monné, 1976: 587; 2005: 113 (cat).

Known only by the female holotype from Satipo, Junin, Peru. Similar to O. navicula by the form of the prothorax and by the colour of the pubescence, but differs by the dense yellowish pubescence covering the sides of the prothorax and the basal half of the elytra. In O. navicula the pubescence of the prothorax is sparse and in the elytra is arranged in several longitudinal rows.
