Status in Afghanistan. First record from Afghanistan by Coad (1981: 16; 2014: 330).—Afghanistan materials: None.

Distribution and habitat. Distribution in Afghanistan: Kabul River.—General distribution: Indus River drainage, Afghanistan and Pakistan.—Habitat: This species is a carnivorous cold-water species that occurs in hillstreams between 300 and 1,500 m asl, with stones as the major substrate. Freshwater.

Economic importance. No commercial importance.
