Dendrobaena cognettii (Michaelsen, 1903)

Helodrilus cognettii Michaelsen, 1903: 130 .

Material examined. Marmara Region: HNHM /15786 1 ex, HNHM /15787 1 ex, Kuru Mts., degraded oak forest at the pass of the Keşan-Gelibolu road, 300 m a.s.l., N40°42.446’ E26°47.030’, 0 5.04.2007, leg. L. Dányi, Z. Erőss, Z. Fehér, J. Kontschán, D. Murányi.

Remarks. Similarly to the species pair Murchieona minuscula (Rosa, 1905) and M. muldali (Omodeo, 1956), the D. cognettii populations also show some North-South European geographical separation. The position of the clitellum is usually on 33–37,38 in the Central and Northern European specimens and on 32–36,37 in the Balkanic specimens.

Dendrobaena cognettii represents a new record for the fauna of Turkey.
