Type material. Not Examined. Holotype, male, MNHN-IU-2017-9151.

Type locality. Shores of Kapiti Island, North Island, New Zealand .

Size. Male 14 mm, female 9.5 mm.

Remarks. Lowry & Springthorpe (2021) recently established a new genus based on the literature. No new material attributable to P. dentata could be located in museum collections for further study.

Distribution. New Zealand. North Island: Kapiti Island (Filhol 1885). South Island: Waitohi Stream Estuary, Picton (Chilton 1916; Hurley 1956).
