Linognathus stenopsis (Burmeister, 1838) *

Although Linognathus stenopsis is a common parasite of goats ( Capra hircus), there are no records of Linognathus stenopsis from Malaysia, as studies on sucking lice from domestic animals and livestock are lacking (MohdZain et al. 2015). Ferris (1933) reported that the ibex ( Capra ibex) and chamois ( Rupicapra rupicapra) can also be hosts to this louse species. Unlike Linognathus africanus, no pathogens of medical or veterinary importance have yet been detected in L. stenopsis (Durden 2019) .
