TYPE LOCALITY: Angola, Andongo, Pungo, 1200 m .

DISTRIBUTION: N Angola.

COMMENTS: Associated with either H. aeta (see Hatt, 1940a) or H. alleni (see Allen, 1939), the affinities of carillus are closer to H. stella (based on our study of the holotype and series from Pungo in the British Museum of Natural History).
