COMMENTS: Neotomine. Knowledge of biology and systematic relationships meager; among woodrats may share common ancestry with Hodomys (Carleton, 1980) . Banded karyotype reported by Haiduk et al. (1988), who noted its resemblance to those of Onychomys and Peromyscus .
