NOTE: some of the Protogamasellus species not considered by Karg in the description of Protofurcatus ( P. elongatus Shcherbak & Petrova, P. minimus Jordaan, P. scuticalis Genis, Loots & Ryke and P. sigillophorus Mineiro, Lindquist & Moraes) are intermediate between those genera, so the two genera are considered synonyms in this publication.
