TYPE DEPOSITORY: Australian National Insect Collection, CSIRO, Canberra, Australia; accession number 50 (as reported in the original description, but see note below).

TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: 40 km north of Grafton, Whiporie State Forest, New South Wales, Australia, associated with Ips grandicollis [Animalia: Curculionidae] under bark of Pinus elliottii [Plantae: Pinaceae]. NOTE: the slide labelled by Stone as holotype contains two females of the same species. One of them was designated by Halliday et al. (1998: 31) as lectotype (accession number ANIC 51-006078); the other specimen on this slide is a paralectotype (accession number ANIC 51-006079).
