TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: Waidhofen an der Thaya and Puch, Austria, on Dendroctonus micans and Hylastes ater [Animalia: Curculionidae].

NOTES: (a) specimens reported as Lasioseius hystrix by Hirschmann & Rühm (1954: 44) were considered a misidentification by Evans (1958a: 201). These specimens as well as the specimens reported as L. hystrix by Hirschmann & Rühm (1953: 7) and as Garmania hystrix by Hirschmann (1959: 5) were re-identified as P. fiseri by Lindquist & Hunter (1965: 19); (b) some of the specimens reported as P. hystrix by Ishikawa (1977: 184), were reidentified as Mucroseius squamosus Lindquist & Wu by Lindquist & Wu (1991: 895); others were re-identified as M. aciculatus by Lindquist & Wu (1991: 897).
