TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: Arnhem, The Netherlands, on apple [Plantae: Rosaceae]. NOTES: (a) specimens reported by Womersley (1956: 549) as Garmania ? pomorum (Oudemans, 1929) were described as Proctolaelaps antennatus Karg, 1985; (b) according to Halliday (1998: 183) and Halliday et al. (1998: 30), the specimens reported by Hughes (1961: 231, 1976: 321) as Proctolaelaps (Proctolaelaps) pomorum are Proctolaelaps antennatus Karg; (c) Bregetova (1977a: 222) suspected this species to be a senior synonym of Garmania (Garmania) stammeri Westerboer.
