TYPE DEPOSITORY: Not stated.

TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: West Allendale, England, in nest of Bombus smithianus [Animalia: Apidae].

NOTE: this species is known from the male only. Turk & Turk (1952) transferred it from Hypoaspis to Chamolaelaps (= Proctolaelaps), on the basis of the form of the holoventral shield of the male. It will not be possible to place this species correctly until the female is identified.
