TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: Abu-Rawash area, Giza Governorate, Egypt, on Xylocopa aestuans [Animalia: Apidae].

NOTE: Gwiazdowicz & Halliday (2008) excluded this species from Iphidozercon but did not suggest an alternative placement for it. The reduced peritreme, aberrant idiosomal chaetotaxy, and edentate chelicera suggest that this is a specialised parasite. It does not appear to belong to the Ascidae sensu Lindquist & Evans (1965) .
