Diagnosis. Large triangular yellow area at the base of abdomen; scutellum black; ocellar triangle shiny, not metallic, with deep longitudinal sulcus and pointed anterior apex; male terminalia with anal sclerites arched distally; surstylus with round apex; mesolobus quadrate; pre- and postgonites about the same length.

Remarks. Here we provide the first photo and DNA barcode of Ensiferella kanmiyai . The species was identified using Liu & Yang’s (2012) key to the species of Ensiferella and its original description (Nartshuk 1993).
