Comments
The holotype of this species is one of the specimens that Townes and Townes (1951, p. 281) identified as Platylabus rubricapensis from New York . It also bears a label that reads ‘HOMOTYPE Platylabus rubricapensis ’ (Figure 32d), which identifies the hypothesis of species that Townes had in 1941.
