Alexander, 1944a: 23–25 (original description); 25, figures 1 (wing) and 4 (male terminalia); (as Limonia). Type locality: Brazil, Minas Gerais, Alto Caparaó.

Paratype female with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | M. Gerais | Alto | Caparaó | 2500m. | Nov. 41 [November, 1941 | L.Gomes”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on blue paper: “ PARATYPE | Limonia | microsoma | C. P. Alexander”.

Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle. Missing part: right flagellum.
