Alexander, 1945a: 264–266 (original description); 281, figure 10 (wing). Type locality: Brazil, São Paulo, Juquiá. Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | Sao Paulo | Juquiá | 400m. | Nov. 1940 [November, 1940] | Travassos”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ HOLOTYPE ♂ | Orimarga | neogaudens | C. P. Alexander”.
Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle; terminalia undissected. Missing parts: right flagellum and most legs except right hind leg.
