Molophilus (Molophilus) scabricornis Alexander, 1942

Alexander, 1942: 69–70 (original description); 77, figure 38 (male terminalia). Type locality: Brazil, São Paulo, Embu- Guaçu.

Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | São Paulo | S. Cabeceiras | M’Boy Guassu | Campos | XII - 18 ’40 [December 18, 1940] | J. D’Amico”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “HOLO- TYPE ♂ | Molophilus | scabricornis | C. P. Alexander”.

Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle; part of abdomen and terminalia mounted on separate slide. Missing parts: head, left wing and all legs.
