Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | Boracea | Mar. 27. 49 [March 27, 1949] | Travassos”; (2) handwritten on white paper: ♂ hyp. [hypopygium] | in | slide; (3) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ HOLOTYPE ♂ | Molophilus | trifibra | C. P. Alexander”.
Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle. Missing parts: head, right wing, left front leg, hind legs and abdomen.
