Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | Boracea | Aug. 5. 1948 [August 5, 1948] | Travassos”; (2) handwritten on white paper: “hypopyg. | on | slide”; (3) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ HOLOTYPE ♂ | Tasiocera | boraceae | C. P. Alexander”.

Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle. Missing parts: head, left wing, most legs except right hind leg and abdomen.
