Note: Gustafsson & Bush (2017) believe that the Brueelia populations from all North American woodpeckers belong to other species, not B. straminea . Considering the absence of a description of Brueelia from Sphyrapicus varius, we keep this record as published by Carriker (1956), but it is likely a misidentification.
