Harpalus punctatostriatus Dejean, 1829: 319 .

The specimen here designated as lectotype is a male bearing labels “ punctatostriatus m. in Dalmatia” and “ Lectotype of Harpalus punctatostriatus Dejean, 1829 desig. by J. Serrano ” .

Data to distinguish H. punctatostriatus from H. dispar are available for both the nominal H. dispar dispar (e.g., Fuente, 1927; Jeannel, 1942) and the eastern populations of H. dispar elegantulus Ménétriés, 1832 and H. dispar splendens Gebler, 1830 (Kataev & Wrase 1995; Wrase 2011).

This species is known from the whole Mediterranean Basin (Kataev & Wrase, 2017c).
