Stenolophus marginatus Dejean, 1829: 427 .
The specimen here designated as lectotype is a male bearing labels “ marginatus m. in Hispania”, “ Lectotype ” and “ Stenolophus marginatus Dejean, 1829 desig. by J. Serrano ” .
Egadroma is currently considered as a subgenus of Stenolophus ((Jaeger & Kataev, 2017). However, Jeannel (1942) ranked Egadroma to the genus status based on the aedeagus poorly sclerotized and the groove on hind tarsomeres. Serrano (1981a, b) added to these characters the observations on male achiasmatic meiosis. More taxa of Stenolophus and Egadroma must be studied to corroborate these differences.
The lectotype hereby designated was collected in Spain, the first place mentioned by Dejean. The species is easily identified as it is the single representative of the genus in the west Palearctic .
It is recorded from Africa, the Oriental region and China (Jaeger & Kataev, 2017).
