Comments

This species was recorded from Adana, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Mersin by Lodos et al. (2003). We could find the specimens collected from Adana, Hatay and Kahramanmaraş but could not locate specimens from Mersin in LEMT. A re-examination of these specimens revealed that they belong to M. (M.) anahtaris Seidenstücker, 1959 . We strongly believe that the specimens from Mersin either belong to M. anahtaris or M. antennalis, another endemic species of Anatolia that is remarkably similar to M. longulus and can only be reliably distinguished by examination of the male genitalia.
