Phyllovates stolli Saussure & Zehntner, 1894

Type locality. Saussure & Zehntner (1894): Brazil and “ Guyane ”. Female holotype examined (MHNG).

Examined material. AMAZONAS: 1 ♂, Rodrigues de Mendoza, Dist. San Nicolas, 24.VIII.2006 (J. Layme leg.) (UNALM) ; 1 ♂, Rodrigues de Mendoza, Omia, Sector Nuevo-Chirimoto (at light), 16.V.2007 (J. Layme leg.) (UNALM).

Other records. Orofino et al. (2006): Satipo (JUNÍN).

Remarks. Orofino et al. (2006) reported one female individual deposited at MHNG as the holotype of Phyllovates stolli . Although Saussure & Zehntner (1894) did not specify the number of specimens in the original type series, the two cited localities (Guiana and Brazil) suggest at least two individuals. Therefore, the type series of Phyllovaes stolli is comprised of syntypes, as correctly stated by Pfäuti & Hollier (2015). Orofino et al. (2006) further stated that the specimen they examined at MHNG was from Brazil, but there is no indication of such origin in the label accompanying the specimen.
