Anthobaris comptior Prena, new species

Description. Agreeing with Anthobaris as diagnosed by Hustache (1951) but larger. Length 6.9 mm, width 2.5 mm; integument black with brassy tinge; dorsal surface and distal ventrites with erect, plain light brown setae. Elytron with subapical callosity undeveloped, sutural interstriae flat. Surface texture and acuminate fifth tarsomere as in A. rugosicollis . Male unknown.

Etymology. The specific epithet is the comparative of the Latin adjective comptus.

Material examined. Holotype female, Fig. 8, labeled “Quebrada Segunda, P. N. Tapantí, 1250 m, Prov. Cart., COSTA RICA. 18 a 28 feb 1993. F. A. Quesada. L-N-194000, 560000”, INBIO CRI001 211077 (MNCR, ex INBio).
