Notocyrtus colombianus Carvalho & Costa, 1992
N. colombianus was described from a female collected in Colombia (Carvalho & Costa 1993). The mounted specimen from Rio Negro, Amazonas, was found beside a worker of Ptilotrigona lurida (Smith, 1854) ( Hymenoptera; Apidae; Apinae; Meliponini) (Fig. 14) with an identical data label. It seems that the [unknown] collector wanted to show the probable mimicry between these two species. The identification of the bee follows Camargo & Pedro (2004).
