Cancraedes simplex (Theobald, 1903)
Distribution. Andaman & Nicobar Islands: North Andamans—Austin. Mangrove.
Habitat dependence. Specific/semi-specific—Adults only. Although only adults of this species have been found resting in crabholes and biting in mangroves in India, based on the study of Cancraedes (as a subgenus of Aedes) by Mattingly (1958), it appears to be adapted to the crabhole habitat, but larvae are also found in pot holes in mangrove and coastal ground pools.
