Diagnosis. Body size medium to large. Mandible with upper tooth broader than lower tooth. Palp formula 5:4. Antenna of male with apex of third and base of fourth flagellomeres semicircular emarginated; tyloids present within the semicircular emarginations. Mesoscutum with notaulus well defined and reaching middle of mesoscutum.
Biology. Cylloceria melancholica (Gravenhorst, 1820) recorded as a parasitoid of Tipula irrorata Macquart, 1826 ( Tipulidae, Diptera) (Broad et al. 2018).
Distribution. Holarctic, Neotropical and Oriental regions (Yu et al. 2016).
