Lectotype. USNM #38968 (Casey Collection), sex? [‘‘N.Y.’’ / ‘‘Casey bequest 1925’’ / ‘‘Type USNM 38968’’ (orange) / ‘‘ imbricatus Csy. ’’ / ‘‘LECTOTYPE, Tinotus imbricatus Casey, desig. R. S. Hanley 2000’’] (here designated). Lectotype designation is justified under article 74.1.1 of the ICZN (1999) in order to fix the status of this specimen as the sole name­bearing type of this species.
