Gonatopus kanyawarus Olmi, van Noort & Guglielmino 2016: 81 .
Description. ♀ (Figs 226 A-D). Apterous; body length 3.5–4.0 mm. Head brown-black, except mandible, clypeus, anterior half of frons (with short stripe along orbits) and ventral side whitish; antenna brown, except scape, pedicel and proximal third of flagellomere 1 whitish, antennomere 10 testaceous; mesosoma black, except posterior third of mesoscutum yellow; metasoma brown-testaceous; proleg brown, except part of coxa, trochanter, stalk of femur, part of tibia and part of chela testaceous; mesoleg brown, except part of coxa, trochanter, part of femur and tibia, tarsus testaceous; metaleg brown, except distal extremity of coxa, trochanter, part of femur, tibia and tarsus testaceous. Antenna clavate; antennomeres in following proportions: 9:6:21:12:9:9:7:6:5:9. Head excavated, shiny, unsculptured; frontal line incomplete, absent in anterior third of frons; occipital carina absent; POL = 2.5; OL = 2; OOL = 10. Palpal formula 6/3. Pronotum crossed by strong transverse furrow, shiny, unsculptured. Mesoscutum shiny, sculptured by numerous longitudinal striae, laterally with two strong pointed apophyses situated on sides of mesoscutellum (Figs 226A, C). Mesoscutellum shiny, smooth, sloping anteriorly. Metanotum very long, transversely striate and excavated behind mesoscutellum (Fig. 226B), with sides protruding (protrusions rounded) (Figs 226A, C). Metapectal-propodeal disc shiny, sculptured by many longitudinal striae, unsculptured among striae; propodeal declivity, meso- and metapleuron transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsomeres in following proportions: 17:3:6:20:31. Protarsomere 3 produced into hook. Enlarged claw (Fig. 222B) with one small subapical tooth and one row of four small lamellae + one bristle. Protarsomere 5 (Fig. 222B) with two rows of 1 (proximal) + 20 lamellae; apex with approximately 14 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.

Types: ♀ holotype: UGANDA: Kibale National Park, Kanyawara, Makerere University Biological Field Station, 0°33.871’N 30°21.355’E, 1495 m, 4–26.VIII.2008, YPT, primary mid-altitude rainforest, S. van Noort leg., SAM-HYM-A023422 (SAMC). Paratype: same locality label as holotype, SAM-HYM-A023422 , 1♀ (SAMC) .
