Type species. Echthrodelphax fairchildii R. Perkins 1903, by monotypy.
Diagnosis. ♀: fully winged (Figs 162D, 165A, B); rarely brachypterous (only in one specimen of E. rufus Olmi 1984 from China, Guangdong, Yunjishan Nature Reserve); palpal formula 3/2, 4/2, 5/2, 5/3, or 6/3; antenna with ADOs; pronotum crossed by strong transverse furrow (Fig. 162D); notauli complete (Figs 165A, B); enlarged claw with one subapical tooth and one row of lamellae (Figs 166A, D); protarsomere 5 with less than 15 medial lamellae (Figs 166A, D); tibial spurs 1/0/1. ♂: fully winged (Figs 165C, D); head with distinct complete occipital carina; oc- ciput concave; temple present; palpal formula 3/2, 4/2, 5/2, 5/3, or 6/3; tibial spurs 1/1/2.
Distribution. Worldwide.
Hosts. Delphacidae (Guglielmino & Olmi 1997, 2006; Guglielmino et al. 2013).
World species. 15 species are known, two in the Afrotropical region.
