Paranthrenella Strand

Type species: Paranthrene formosicola Strand [1916], subsequent designation by Fletcher 1929: 163.
This genus is currently only known from Oriental region, including Nepal, northern Vietnam and Taiwan. Members of the genus differ from species of related genera by the structure of the male genitalia (length of tegumen-uncus 2.3−3.1X saccus; scopula long, as long as tegumen-uncus in length), female genitalia (antrum long and narrow) as well as wing venation (crossvein of hindwing shifted distally at about 3/5 of posterior transparent areas).
