Type material

Holotype IRSNB IG 29715/513 (16.9mm), Paratypes: 1 MNHN (14.7mm), 2 RH (17.1 & 12.4mm), 1 G.T. Poppe coll. (16.0mm). Chile, trawled off Itata, north of Concepción, in about 350m, muddy bottom, 36°50’S, 73°03’W.

Remarks

All known specimens are very similar though some of the new specimens reach a larger size and have eroded axial lamellae.

The radula (Fig. 32) is rachiglossate with a rachidian tooth bearing a long, broad, central cusp, a small, lateral denticle and a moderately long, broad, lateral cusp. A small denticle is occasionally present between the central cusp and the lateral denticle.

The operculum (Fig. 31) is elliptical with a terminal nucleus.
