Records associated with mangroves: Las Terrenas, El Portillo, Playa El Portillo, Dominican Republic, algae ( Bostrychia sp.) growing on roots of red mangrove ( Rhizophora mangle) (Pfingstl et al. 2016).

Records from other habitats: Río San Juan, Playa Grande, Dominican Republic, intertidal algae growing on rock; Cayo Levantado, Samaná, Dominican Republic, algae on sand; Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, Bostrychia growing on rocky substrate (Pfingstl et al. 2016). Bathsheba Beach and Enterprise Beach near Oistins, Barbados, diverse algae covering rocks (Pfingstl 2013c).

Distribution: Barbados, Dominican Republic.

Remarks: The record from mangrove roots represents a rather exceptional case as this species was usually found in intertidal algae growing on rocks or sandy substrate (Pfingstl 2013c, Pfingstl et al. 2016).
