Syleter paradoxus (Putzeys, 1868)

New record for Hong Kong. This is the first record for southeast China for this species, originally described from Bangkok, with a wide distribution from Myanmar and Yunnan to Indonesia and Indochina. Determined from photograph by Dmitry Fedorenko and confirmed by Michael Balkenohl from specimens. Material: 1 ex. Hong Kong, Wu Kau Tang, 7.ii.13. Biology: Imago found February. Moss in shallow stream.
