This species was described from several specimens collected in Hong Kong. Gemminger & Harold (1868), Bates (1873b), Fedorenko (1997) and Balkenohl (2003) list this species as occuring in Hong Kong.
Dyschirius (Eudyschirius) schaumii Putzeys, 1866
New record for Hong Kong, Determined by Michael Balkenohl from specimens. This record significantly extends eastward the distribution of this species, which was previously only known from south Asia. Material: 3 ex. W.T.L., 11.v.10; 1 ex. W.T.L., 22.v.15; 1 ex. W.T.L., 24.v.15; 11 ex. W.T.L., 25.v.15; 2 ex. W.T.L., 31.v.15; 1 ex. W.T., 18.ix.09. Biology: Imago found in May and September. Mostly attracted to light, this species is quite common, though its small size 3 mm long, makes it difficult to see. Fully winged.

New record for Hong Kong, and may be the first record of this species outside Japan. Determined by Michael Balkenohl from specimens. Material: 1 ex. W.T.L., 10.x.14; 1 ex. W.T.L., October 2010; 2 exx. W.T., November 2010. Biology: Imago found October to November. All or most of these specimens were attracted to light. Fully winged.
