Chlaenius (Epomis) nigricans Wiedemann, 1821

Motschulsky (1865) and Chaudoir (1876b) were the first to list this species from Hong Kong. Though Redtenbacher (1867) listed Epomis duvauceli Dejean (1831) as occurring in Hong Kong, but the specimen was later determined as nigricans by Andrewes (1924).
