Subgenus Achlaenius Mandl, 1992

Chlaenius (Achlaenius) micans (Fabricius, 1792)

Redtenbacher (1867) lists Chlaenius vulneratus Dejean 1931 as one of his specimens from Hong Kong. Andrewes (1924), however examined Redtenbachers specimen and identified it a micans, the type of which Andrewes had examined is in the Paris Museum. Kirschenhofer (2003a) does not list this species for Hong Kong and gives its distribution as much further north.

Chlaenius (Achlaenius) sericimicans Chaudoir, 1876

Chaudoir, (1876b) described this from a pair of specimens collected from Hong Kong. Kirschenhofer (1997, 2003a & 2005) lists this species for Hong Kong.
