Schaum described this species from Hong Kong specimens sent to him by Bowring. Also listed for Hong Kong by Redtenbacher (1857), Chaudoir (1861b), Gemminger & Harold (1868), Chaudoir (1878), Andrewes (1924), Jedlièka (1965a), Louwerens (1969), Baehr (2003b) and Häckel & Farka (2012). Material: 1 ex. W.T.L., 25.iv.15; 1 ex. W.T.L., 17.v.12; 1 ex. W.T.L., 2.vi.15; 1 ex. W.T.L., 10.vi.11. Biology: Imago found April to June. Atracted to light and fully winged.
