Harold (1877) noted that Bowring had specimens Bembidion opulentum Nietner, 1858, a junior synonym of this species from Hong Kong.

Specimen determined from Andrewes (1935) and confirmed by Luca Toledano (pers. comm.). Material: Ƌ and 2 exx. Hong Kong, Mai Po, 16.iv.15, light trap; Sight record W.T.L., 31.v.15; 1 ex. Hong Kong, Mai Po, 19.vi.15, light trap; 1 ex. W.T.L., 21.vi.15; 1 ex. W.T.L., 11.viii.15; 1 ex. W.T.L., 14.ix.11; 1 ex. W.T., September 2011; ♀. W.T.L., 7.x.13; 1 ex. W.T.L., 7.x.14; 2 exx. W.T.L., 10.x.14; 1 ex. W.T.L., 25.x.14; 1 ex. W.T.L., 30.x.11; 1 ex. W.T., October 2011; 1 ex W.T.L. 12.xi.15. Biology: Imago found April to November. Can be attracted to light, it is fully winged.
