Subgenus Trechicus LeConte, 1853

Perigona (Trechicus) nigriceps (Dejean, 1831)

Listed as occurring in Hong Kong by Hua (2002) and Bousquet (2003f). Bates (1892) lists Perigona beccarii Putzeys, 1875, a junior synonym of this species from Hong Kong. Material: 1 ex. W.T.L., June 2011; 1 ex. W.T.L., 8.vii.06; 1 ex. W.T.L., 8.viii.10; 1 ex. W.T.L., October 2011; 1 ex. W.T.L., 14.xi.11. Biology: Imago found February to November. Can be attracted to light, it is fully winged and capable of flight.

The genus is represented in Hong Kong by a second species, that shows chacteristics of the nominal subgenus; this species is slightly smaller than P. nigriceps with the disc of the elytra black and significantly different elytral setae and male genitalia.
