Kirschenhofer (1996) lists this species for Hong Kong. It may be that this and O. interstitialis are being confused. Material: 1 ex. Redtenbacher (1867) recorded Ophionea cyanocephala, a synonym of Ophionea indica (Thunberg, 1764) from Hong Kong. However Andrews (1924) concluded this identification was incorrect and the specimens were in fact interstitialis . It may be that this and O. indica are being confused.
