Genus Pentagonica Schmidt-Gobel, 1846

Pentagonica erichsoni Schmidt-Gbel, 1846 Pentagonica nitidicollis Baehr, 2011

New record for Hong Kong. This newly described species has a large distribution, though this is the first record for south eastern China and Hong Kong. Determined from specimen by Martin Baehr. Material: 1 ex. Hong Kong, Ng Tung Chai 27.iii.08 (Leg. Yiu Vor). Biology: Imago found March.

Pentagonica pallipes (Nietner, 1856)

New record for Hong Kong. Material: 1 ex. W.T.L., 18.iii.15; 1 ex. W.T.L., 8.vii.08; 1 ex. W.T.L., July 2011; 1 ex. W.T.L., 14.xi.11. Biology: Imago found March, July and November. Can be attracted to light, it is fully winged and capable of flight.

Pentagonica ruficollis Schmidt-Gbel, 1846

New record for Hong Kong. The species was previously recorded in Guangdong province (Baehr 2011). Determined from specimen by Martin Baehr. Material: 2 exx. Hong Kong, Ng Tung Chai 11.vi.10, netted from tree. Biology: Imago found June. Arboreal, both specimens netted from trees.

Schaum described this species from Hong Kong. Also listed as occurring in Hong Kong by Gemminger & Harold (1868), Dupuis (1912 & 1913), Jedlièka (1963), Hua (2002), Bousquet (2003h) and Baehr (2011). Material: 1 ex. W.T.L., 23.ii.10; Sight record W.T.L., 12.iii.14; 1 ex. W.T.L., 20.iii.13; 1 ex. W.T.L., 27.iii.09; 1 ex. W.T.L., 23.v.09; 1 ex. W.T.L., 30.v.08; 1 ex. W.T.L., 6.viii.09. Biology: Imago found February to July. Can be attracted to light, it is fully winged and capable of flight.
