Dolichoctis rotundata (Schmidt-Göbel, 1846)
This species has historically been treated as a junior synonym of Dolichoctis striata Schmidt-Göbel, 1846, though its specific status has been reinstated (Martin Baehr pers. comm.). Identification was determined by Dr. Martin Baehr from specimens. Material: 1 ex. W.T., 11.iii.09 on tree; 1 ex. Hong kong, Mui Wo, Wo Tin, 15.iii.08, many under bark of Lychee tree; 1 ex. W.T., 14.vi.08 on railings; 1 ex. Hong Kong, Ng Tung Chai, 18.vi.11; 1 ex. Hong Kong, Tai Po Kau, 29.vi. 10 in tree; 1 ex. Hong Kong, Mui Wo, 23.xi.10; 1 ex. Hong kong, Mui Wo, Silvermine waterfall, 14.xii.08; 1 ex. Hong kong, Mui Wo, Silvermine waterfall, 18.xii.08. Biology: Nocturnal and arboreal on the trunks of trees and similar structures. Does not seem to come readily to light as they seem to ignore light sources even when quite close.
