Genus Aephnidius MacLeay, 1825

Aephnidius adelioides (MacLeay, 1825)

New record for Hong Kong although this species is quite common locally. Andrewes and Scott (1924) recorded this species from Macao. Material: 1 ex. Hong Kong, Lantau, Pui O, 20.iv.08; 1 ex. W.T.L., 24.v.14; 1 ex. W.T.L., 29.v.12; 1 ex. W.T.L., 2.vi.15, 2 others seen; 1 ex. W.T.L., 20.viii.13; 1 ex. W.T.L., 18.ix.09; Sight record W.T.L., 20.ix.15; 1 ex. Hong Kong, Lantau, Pui O, 9.xii.06, under rock in marsh. Biology: Imago found April to September. Sandy areas of fresh and salt water marshes, can be attracted to light, it is fully winged and capable of flight.
